I am very interested in marketing and the way in which it enables creators to communicate to the market through creating and designing different documents on various platforms. The different ways in which one can capture their attention toward specific products and/or companies. I am passionate about the creation, layout, design and production of paper based as well as online information.

My current studies have shown that marketing also focuses on developing and managing ongoing relationships with customers, competitors, partners, suppliers and other shareholders. The teaching approach within the University of Pretoria emphasises the strong functional linkages that exist in practice between marketing and finance, accounting, operations, personnel, information systems, business communications and strategic management.

Traditionally, publishing tasks are performed by specialists.

Tasks that the university is currently teaching me includes:

  • How to produce content and rewrite.

  • How to utilize the tools available (InDesign) that produces the final product.

  • Editing and / or self-editing.

  • The art of listening and asking the right question.
